Red Cup Day 2012.

I've blogged about Red Cup day in years past, but since it is hands down one of my favorite days of the year, I have to share again!

Six years ago was our very first Red Cup Day.  We were all home for Christmas and no one had children yet, so my mom, sister-in-law, and I declared it a girls day and headed over to our favorite shopping town to spend the day.  We just happened to stop into Starbucks like three of four times that day and my mom kept going on and on about how much she loved the red cups.  She kept making us get drinks just so we could get the red cup.  We consumed so many warm beverages that day that we declared it Red Cup Day.

And it stuck!

The next year we went again and made it a point to get as many red cups as we could.

The next year we initiated my grandma and she has been going with us ever since!

Red Cup Day is the best.  Red Cup Day is magical.

Another rule of Red Cup Day is that we have a theme.  One year it was boots, and my mom bought us all a pair of new boots.  Another year it was flats, and she bought us all some flats.  One year it was Christmas dresses, and another year it was outerwear and she bought us sweaters or a jacket.  Anyway, you get the point.  FUN!

Oh.  And we eat.  A lot.  Like ... two huge meals and snacks in between.  It's ridiculous and amazing.

Oops - one more rule! No kids allowed!  This is a special treat because I rarely have a day without the kiddos to do something like shop and splurge with no worries or hauling around a diaper bag.  But, we bent the rules this year since Violet was only two weeks old.  :)  She tagged along and did great! My kids stayed home with my dad and brother! (Husby was at work!)

And we always take a hat picture.

Goodness, Red Cup Day has a lot of rules!  Let's recap.

RED CUP DAY RULES

* Drink as many red cups as possible.
* Have a theme.
* No kids allowed.
* Eat a ton.
* Take a hat pic.

The picture below absolutely KILLS me.  Hilarious.  Hollie forgot Violet's stroller, so we had to rent a car to push her around in and the only one she would fit in was the double car.

Hollie was pushing that thing everywhere and it made me laugh SO hard.  But we had plenty of room to stash the goodies we purchased! :)
