A Peek Into Our Festivities: iPhone Edition!

We've been up to a lot of holiday fun this past week. Here is a recap through the lens of my iPhone! :)

Story time with Santa!

photo-7

Our local Pottery Barn Kids has story time every Tuesday morning. This week the one and only Santa Claus showed up. He read to them The Night Before Christmas, How The Grinch Stole Christmas and Llama Llama Holiday Drama. Then they sang some Christmas songs together. Levi LOVED it. (He's in the far right corner in the purple puffy chair.)

Fun with the Nutcrackers!

photo-6

My little guy is OBSESSED with nutcrackers this year. He has a green and gold one at home (he's an Irish nutcracker), and Levi named him "Cracker Man." Wherever Levi goes, Cracker Man goes. It's so funny. He even battled it out with Captain America the other day and won! Tough nutcracker, that Cracker Man. When we stumbled upon this giant nutcracker one day, Levi exclaimed, "He looks JUST LIKE MY Cracker Man!!", and he ran up to him. So sweet. We wanted to take him to see The Nutcracker, but our schedule was just too full this year.

Building a Gingerbread House!

As soon as I bought the g-bread house kit, it was all I heard about from Mr. Weebie. As I was paying for it, he asked if he could put it together in the car. Then he had a meltdown that evening when I told him we would put it together the next day. He's serious about his love for the gingerbread houses. When we built it the next morning, he was BESIDE himself. He was thrilled. And I let him have full reign of what went where and I was totally impressed with the way he put the peppermints on top! So funny! He did a good job and was so proud!

Christmas Light Night with Glam*Ma & Papapa!

(Levi thinks Glam*Ma is the funniest person on the planet.)

Mom picked up Levi and cousin Maxwell up early Thursday morning and took them to lunch at Chik-fil-A and then to Toys R Us to pick out a toy. (A dump truck for Levi. He is currently loving them.) Then they went home for naps and when Papapa got off work they headed to Chuck-E-Cheese and to look at the Christmas lights around town. Then they spent the night and had an absolute blast!

These fun things were waiting for the boys under the tree when they arrived. Levi's favorite thing was the bug kit and magnifying glass! Mom said they just ran around screaming with excitement!

The Christmas Train with Grammy & Poppy

(Our phones did not take good pics that night!)

A town near us has an awesome camp ground that hosts the annual "Christmas Train" and the whole village is decked out like an old Christmas town. It's really neat, and there are tons of fun things to do for kids like pony rides, hay rides, play grounds, old shops and lots of other fun stuff. Then the train takes you on a ride and tells you the story of Jesus. It's a great, super fun place for kids!

Levi was quite mesmerized by Mrs. Claus.

And was pretty shy around the man himself. :)

It was a really exciting evening and Levi had a ton of fun!

Mommy's Day Off!

photo-2

My mom, sister-in-law and me had a great day out on Saturday! We shopped, ate and laughed til we dropped! I was so swollen by the time we got home. Mom spoiled us with goodies and treats all day. I told a friend it was so bizarre not getting a child in and out of a car and having to think only of myself at meal time at the restaurants. It was such a nice and refreshing day!

The Advent Calendar!

photo-10

Each night, we let Levi open the little door and get a chocolate. He eats the treat as we read the verse of the day. We also have a sticker version that we do. Then we read The Christmas Story to him and he has it nearly memorized at this point. We get to certain pages and he says, "there was no room for them in the inn", and "they were very afraid" (referring to when the angels appeared). He seems to really understand and it just thrills my soul. I heard Husby asking Levi the other night why we celebrate Christmas and he screamed, "IT'S JESUS' BIRTHDAY! HE IS BORN!" :)

We have lots of other fun activities and adventures planned and I am so excited to see them through Levi's eyes. This year has truly been magical. His excitement and love for all of the lights, the snow globes, the nutcrackers, the villages, the ornaments, and everything else is contagious. It truly is the most wonderful time of the year.
