Vacay. Through my iPhone.

We were out of town on a beach vacation last week! We had the time of our lives and I'm desperately scraping the bottom of our laundry basket, trying to find enough sand to run through my fingers once again. There is just something so magical and mystical about the ocean. I absolutely love it.

This was the perfect vacation for a two year old. When he met eyes with the ocean water and sandy beaches, there was an instant love connection. This child is such a water baby - running out to the waves and crashing into them face first, laughing all the while. Watching him and experiencing this vacation with Weebie was one of the most joyful times of my life. I will forever cherish those moments.

We crammed so much in every single day and I took about a billion and four pictures. :) I have not even begun sorting through them all just yet, so I thought that today I would share with you my favorite iPhone pictures from the trip. They don't measure up to capturing the beauty that we were enveloped in last week, but they're a lot of fun. I hope you enjoy!

Oh, to be a "professional vacationer" with my one and only and our littlest lamb. Would that be the life or what?

Here we go! Hold on to your seats for a tour: The Beach Via iPhone.

The Initial Meet.

We arrived Sunday evening, just in time for Levi to get a proper introduction to the water. He was absolutely mesmerized. He didn't know what to do!

Our Hotel Room Balcony.

Never, ever did I want to leave this view.

The Cover Up.

So, I was so proud of my new swimsuit coverup and thought I looked kinda cute. I came prancing out of the bathroom and Levi walked up to me, touched the rim of it and said, "MOMMY'S JAMMIES!" Ha! Drat.

Kissy Water.

photo-4

Oh, sweet salty ocean water. I love the way it smells.

Footprints.

photo-5

See those big rock looking things up the beach? Those were the most incredible sand castles I have ever seen! They had some sort of competition before we arrived.

... and he'll never be the same.

Swooping Seagulls.

One of the top most peaceful scenes: seagulls flying over the waters.

The View.

This place hung out over the ocean and had rocking chairs and music playing for the most relaxing of evenings. Love.

This was Husby's ice cream cone, but I liked it so much that he traded with me. It was phenomenal! :)

PB & Banana

photo-19

This was the most gigantic sandwich in children's history! Levi kept saying, "it is heavy! it is heavy!" HA!

Dolphin Watching.

While out on a boat watching dolphins, we passed this fishing boat. Made a cool picture.

Look Out!

While pointing out a (faux) volcano going on up shore, they got pummeled by a wave. I laughed so hard.

Hope you enjoyed reliving these days with us. I'm sure they'll be many a picture popping up this week, so be forewarned. :) God bless family vacation.
I am a modern day homemaker with a passion for family, cooking, celebrating, decorating, travel, and memory making! The Lord has blessed me with the desires of my heart in my husband and our two sons. We recently built our dream home and cultivating a loving and happy haven for my family is where I find so much joy.

  2. Ooh! I've been a lurker forever. I love your family and your faith and how you put them together with fabulous words! Did you guys go to Galveston? The AIA (architects .... something, my husband is one of the clan) host an annual sandcastle building contest there. It is supposed to be super cool. (Though we skipped it this year because it was super hot! Kudos to you guys for braving the heat - whichever beach you enjoyed!!)

  5. We just got back from the beach ourselves. There is something about kids and the beach that makes it even more fun. I completely agree on the professional vacation idea. I always say that if I could afford it I would buy a big fancy schmancy motor home (I'm talking Granddaddy of all motor homes) and head out to see this great country we live in. And no I'm not 80 years old.

  7. What fun! I am a born and bred San Diego girl and have lived within 5 miles of the beach my entire life (except for the past 3 years.) I love being near the beach, but hate the actual beach because I am convinced that sand is of the devil. I'm so glad that you had a great trip! And I wish I could handle the sand because it truly does look like fun!

  8. LOVE the pictures! They made me long for the beach! I can't wait for our beach vacation in a couple of weeks! My little boy (who reminds me a lot of your little man) turned two in February and loves the water so it should be fun!
