Bitty Bits.

Confessional!

I have been away from my computer/blogging all of last week and (besides posting the vacay pictures) the majority of this week, too. Whew, that's like a record for me! Truth is, the longer I'm away from it, the more I don't even think about it. It's not that I don't want to blog, because we all know Whitney could never live a life without blogging (okay, of course I could, but smile and go with me for dramatic effect, k?). It's just that Husby has been home this entire month (HEAVEN), and with him home all day every day & night, being on the computer just isn't as exciting or appealing.

I know my tune will change in two weeks when residency begins (DENIAL) (and yes, I'll probably be driving y'all nuts with 192 posts per day), but for me, right now, blogging will probably continue to take a backseat so that I can soak up these summer moments as much as I can with my l.o.v.e.s. So, don't desert me or think I fell off of a cliff somewhere, because I didn't. We don't even have any cliffs around here. I'm here. I'm just pouring all of my time and energy into other things right now - so much so that I truly don't have time to sit and write about it.

But I will. Promise. :)

And that being said, I'm W-A-Y behind on reading the blogs I love, so I apologize if something enormously huge has happened in y'all's lives and I haven't said anything to you. Ha! I will catch up, soon! I gotta know what my bloggy friends are up to!

And the 7 Little Moments? I have NOT been doing that, so I am going to have to just skip two weeks of it and pick back up next week. That is something I don't like slacking on, because it's already been so much fun for me to go back and look at.

Okay - enough Blog Talk.

Can I just tell you how much I'm loving the Magnum bars? Seriously. They are like Heaven on a stick! I kind of wish they never came to the US because now they are all I think about. And I don't even usually like ice cream bars like that. Oh dear me.

And Yellow Box flip flops? Okay, crazy expensive for a pair of flip flops, but oh my gracious sakes alive, my feet have never known such comfort. I recently ran into a "buy one get one half off" sale for them and they are all I've been wearing this summer. WONDERFUL. I buy the ones with as many diamonds and rhinestones that you could possibly fit on one shoe. Because ... I'm kind of gaudy like that. ;)

I also can't get enough "beach" smell. I've been burning Yankee Candle's Beach Party and using the reed diffuser like a mad woman. It takes me back to last week and I am a lady obsessed. Also, I have been wearing Bobbi Brown's Beach almost every day (and also wearing her sunscreen when galavanting out in the sun). I tend to take things I like to an extreme, so if you come to my house or give me a hug, you might drown. Not in waves, but in it's SMELL! I'm tempted to dump a gallon of salt in my bath water and go swim in it.

What are some of your current summer loves?

  2. You can make a really good exfoliant using just sea salt and essential oils. Careful, your bath will be SLIPPERY.

My current summer loves are chocolate soy milk, because I don't like eating a lot when it's warm. I am also loving summer reading and the fact that in Glasgow right now the sun goes down after 10pm and rises again at 4:30!!! (compared to the total darkness of the winter nights it's amazing!)

  5. OK I now have to go check out these awesome sounding sandals, but I wanted to say I totally get the beach smell. Bath & Body Works used to make a lotion that was a combo of coconut and something that left you smelling freshly tanned. I LOVED IT.

Also - find a salt-water pool. You'll climb out smelling just like you've been in the ocean, its great!

  6. I love yellow box flip-flops. I teach school and we used to get by with wearing them. We insisted they weren't flip-flops (who were we kidding). Anyway, we got a new boss, and he put the smack down on us. No more yellow box at work.

  10. Magnum bars are the best!!! I was introduced to them when I was in Europe in college and I had one every night! I was so excited when I found out that they were coming to the U.S. Of course my hips might not like it later - ha! Enjoy your time with your family - they are what matters most =)

  11. hmmm...i'm loving that June has been far less busy than May and that means I get to spend tons of time with Brad. I also love that Zoe is way more interactive right now and really really fun to be around. I'm currently addicted to a new peach cobbler recipe that I just created and blogging.

  12. I've been wondering where you are! Glad you are doing well! And girl you need to get some Scentsy instead of burning candles! SO much safer! :-)

  13. Hey! I'm new to your blog, and I literally just spent the past hour and a half reading post after post. I finally had to tell myself, "THIS is the LAST one!" ;)

So. That being said...I think I'll stick around and make the transition from binge reader to regular reader. Hooray!

  14. I hadn't heard of this fragrance before. (I'm out of the loop lately.) I looked it up and was going to BUY SOME! But then I read that it has a powdery scent and I don't usually like those so much. So... I passed. I hope you have GREAT times with your guys and make lotsa MEMORIES!! :)
