Dreams.

I am a very vivid dreamer. I dream all night long and remember them every morning. I can go into great detail about what happened in my dreams and sometimes I have to stop and think to myself, "wait, did that really happen, or was it in my dream?". Isn't that weird? It's crazy. Husby is baffled by my dreams because he rarely remembers his.

Something that drives me crazy about my dreams is that I have several recurring ones. And they're PROBABLY the reason that I grind my teeth in my sleep!!!

Recurring Dream #1.

I'm in my senior year of college. I am just about to graduate in a few weeks when I suddenly remember a class that I registered for and NEVER attended! Of course, this means I won't graduate and I wake up in a pool of sweat every time.

Recurring Dream #2.

I'm in high school and I'm on the way to an away game to cheer and I realize I forgot my bloomers at home. And I have on white underwear. And no one has an extra set of bloomers. Humiliation!!

Recurring Dream #3.

I'm driving down the high way and have to abruptly put on the breaks. I slam them to the floor and my car slows some but it keeps going ... and I'm headed toward the car in front of me. The breaks never fully stop and I wake up just before I crash. ARGH!

Recurring Dream #4.

My teeth fall out. Specifically, the ones up front. It. Is. Awful.

I know that some people think there are underlying reasons for these types of dreams, like I feel like my life is spiraling out of control and I have a unhealthy fear of something. But, I've been having these dreams for years and I feel like I've got a pretty good grasp on life. :)

Whatever the reason, these dreams wear me OUT!

Do you have recurring dreams?
I am a modern day homemaker with a passion for family, cooking, celebrating, decorating, travel, and memory making! The Lord has blessed me with the desires of my heart in my husband and our two sons. We recently built our dream home and cultivating a loving and happy haven for my family is where I find so much joy.

  1. Yes, yes I do! The car accident one, with the brakes, is a huge one for me. And I also dream that I am thisclose to finishing college, and there are a few classes I totally spaced on and am SO far behind on that I will never finish on time.

Dreams. Just dreams?? or something more??

  2. Yes I do!!
I also dream my teeth fall out, all of them!! I hate that!
Oh, and I grind my teeth in my sleep too!

  3. No reoccuring dreams for me- hopefully I didn't just jinx myself. Have ever looked up the meaning? I've done that with the few dreams that I can actually remember.... it's kind of made a lot of sense (odd, because I don't much buy into all 'that' kind of thing).

  4. I have the one about the car too! It nearly stops but just won't and I end up going through red lights or hitting other cars.
    It's horrid!

  5. I've just looked online and apparently our brakes failing in dreams might mean that we fear losing control of situations.
    Whatcha think?

  6. I have the same one about college. The scene is exactly the same each time, where I'm walKing with friends, we are laughing and I suddenly remember the class I never attended! I can see the trees on the campus, the walkway that cuts through and all the buildings...scares me every time!!!

  7. I do. But not all the time. I have two that only occur when I'm super duper stressed about something. When I was a teenager, I used to dream that the doctor told me I'd never have babies (worst fear for someone whose been dreaming of motherhood since she was 8). Now that I have two beautiful babies, my stress dream always has something to do with something happening to them...and it always involves a snake. How creepy is that?!?!? The snake is not always the culprit, but the snake is always there.

  8. I have the same dream or a variation of the theme. I'm the only server in my restaurant (or the staff is horribly outnumbered) I'm running around trying to please everyone and they are all yelling at me or giving me dirty looks because I can't reach their table. Things start to go wrong like the till malfunctions or we run out of ice or things like that. Throughout the dream I hear the *bzz* Bzz* of our dumb waiter signalling there is food in the lift.

    Dreaming about work is the.worst.thing.ever.

  9. I still have recurring dreams about my PhD thesis and viva voce exam. I dream that I haven't finished my thesis, or that I am about to have my viva and I've forgotten everything about my PhD and am totally unprepared for it. The viva was the single most terrifying thing I have ever done in my life, which probably explains why I still dream about it!

  10. Dreams #1 & 2 are common ones for me too! I didn't start experiencing dream #1 until about a year ago, and I've been out of school for nearly four years now!

  11. Yes! I've had your Dream #1 as well!...MANY times! I also have one where I am in water. I'm floating through the room (which is apparently filled with water), and just when I think I'm going to drown, I breathe, and find that I can actually breathe under water!!...it's crazy, but I dream it a lot

  12. I'm a dreamer too... I have a dream dictionary next to my bed, for when I really feel there is some meaning in them!

Teeth falling out is one I can relate to & dream often. Apparently it means you're about to loose something in your life, but it has a positive thing attached to it...
Dreams are powerful! But you never know though what your dreams are telling you!!!

  13. I've always had reoccurring dreams. When I was little I had 2 specifically. One, our witch Halloween decoration came to life and chased me. The other? Everyone disappeared except for me and baby Gonzo (from the Muppet babies). I would run after him as he rode away from me on his tricycle because I thought he knew where all the people went.

  14. I rarely remember my dreams, but the ones I do remember are often strange. Although, not in a dream, but I've had a gas pedal stick while driving through the mountains - hands down scariest thing ever!

  15. Last night I dreamt one of my front teeth fell out, it was horrible!!!

  16. I've had dream #1 and #4 multiple times, too! Both are so scary!

    ReplyDelete
  17. I've had the same dream about all my teeth falling out. Freaks me out! My other reoccuring dream is someone chasing me and not being able to run or scream for help. I always wake up completely panicked and sweaty!

  18. YES!

Dream 1: I dream my teeth fall out too!

Dream 2: It's the first day of high school and I do not know my class schedule and I cannot remember my locker combination

Dream 3: Someone bad is chasing me and trying to hurt/kill/kidnap me

I think tha majority of my dreams result to control issues....Shocker right! I like control!

  19. My reoccurring dream is that I start plying with my teeth and they become loose, but before I can stop myself I pull my teeth out with my tongue ( you know how you play with it as a kid because you want to lose your tooth so bad). I wake up in panic and have to feel and make sure all my teeth are still there.

  21. Every single night I have a dream (or two) and I remember them and allll of the details and I definitely find myself waking up asking myself if it was real or not!

  22. YES!! I have the exact same college NIGHTMARE! Over and over again! I guess that's just how college traumatized us haha!

  23. I have the same recurring dream about not taking my last class in college in order to graduate. It's always a math class too! ;)

  24. I'm a vivid dreamer too. I swear I can taste things in my dreams. I also find it funny that so many people don't dream in color. I've had both the college dream and the losing the brakes in the car dream. Scary.

  25. I have the same dream about college classes! I would have that dream all the time in college!

  26. Number one and number four...definitely! So strange!

  27. That's crazy, I have 2 frequent dreams that are very similar to your 1st and 4th.
In one I am back in High school working towards my IB diploma (where you have 6 classes that you take for 2 years straight) and I realize that I have been forgetting to go to either math or geography for about a year. That would make the 2 year cumulative test pretty difficult.
In the other my teeth are all lose and about to fall out. It's like they're baby teeth only I know I don't have more to grow in. I'm always so freaked out by that one.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Oh my goodness I have the same teeth dream too...scary!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I always dream that my teeth are falling out! Often in those dreams, I am actually biting/pushing so hard that I actually shove my tooth/teeth out!! I wake up a complete mess! And...surprise, surprise, I am a major grinder...with a really sexy mouthguard. :)

    ReplyDelete
  30. Um.... DITTO! Especially to the college graduation one! The whole dream is me trying to frantically figure out how I can make up the whole semester in one week. AWFUL.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I have dreams that my teeth fall out all the time and it is so scary!! I wake up checking my teeth...hubby thinks i'm crazy! Those dreams are almost worst than the one where a car is driving down the road right for me and I can't cross the street fast enough. the harder I try the longer i take!
