Weebie Wednesday: Indoor Funzies.

Since we are snowed in and likely will be for a good chunk of the rest of the week, we are playing some of our most favorite indoor activities. We plan on getting outside the house and frolicking in the snow soon, but yesterday since it was still snowing most of the day, we stayed inside and played.

Except for when I ventured outside to get a "visual" of how deep the snow really was. And it resulted in this:

BUT - this is Weebie Wednesday, not Mommy Act A Fool Wednesday.

So, we rounded up some big blankies, strung them about the chairs and tables, and viola - a fort for Weebie. He loves it when we make him forts.

Husby chased him around and around like an army man (you know, belly crawling) for a good forty-five minutes and after Weebs gained a second wind, I wore him out for another good while. Momma doesn't like crawling like an army man. Momma doesn't like squeezing through small spaces. Momma's booty ain't as small as it once was.

Did I really just say ain't? I swear it was just for effect.

Ah-hmm.

But yes, Weebie loves his fort and he enjoys taking his toys inside. Buzz had a good time in there with him yesterday, and so did Thomas. Thomas of the train variety.

How can a little angel look so mischievous?

I remember making forts when I was a little girl. Well, my brother actually made the forts. I just showed up and brought all of my favorite toys inside: Puff Puff, my purse filled with "lipstick" (Smucker's lip gloss), a Cabbage Patch, a Sesame Street book, and my plastic high heels.

Ah, the priorities of a 5 year old.

Although, I'm pretty sure now I've filled my "fort" (my home) with similar things. My Weebie Weeb, a collection of great purses, a bookshelf full of my favorites and lots of sparkly, grown up high heels.

Some things never change.

Let's just hope my brother doesn't come over and tip my ice box over so that we can hop inside and pretend it's a boat. I don't think it would have the same effect as it did with my little plastic one back in the day. I still hold a grudge for him busting the back out of that thing due to treacherous "waves".

It's so fun watching Levi create memories of his own and using his imagination. Once, when we were inside, he realized that Percy (his other beloved train) was out in the middle of the room. He started on his way out to get it, but I exclaimed, "STOP WEEBIE! The bad guys are out there! If you go get Percy, they might get you!"

He stopped, backed up on his hands and knees and peered ever so quietly around the chair. After I called "coast clear", he ran over to Percy and then flew back into his fort - his safe haven, and died laughing. What a fun little lamb!

Having a little boy only gets more fantastic with each passing day. He is just so full of life and love that he just exudes such a contagious joy. I love him. He is my prize.

  3. Hilarious pic of you in the snow-but don't hit me! Just reminds me of something I'd do!

Thankfully we didn't get enough snow to even cover the ground but it's still 14degrees here!! Brrrrrrhh!! Too cold for us and snow 3 times in one year in Texas is far too much!!

Looks like the tent was a hit for the wee one, though!! Oh I used to love to get down and play with my girls when they made them in their rooms! They spend all their time now in front of the mirror working on their hair now that they're pre-teens!! lol They don't care about tents any more and it makes me sad cos they're just growing up too fast!! Enjoy these days!!

Have a great time in that snow!! lol

  6. You are so sweet and full of joy Whitney! I hope I can be as happy and positive as you are when I'm a mom some day. :)

ALSO, I was still building forts clear into my preteens, I believe. I would hang blankets over my bedposts and my sister and I would build a "wagon" out furniture, blankets, and kitchen chairs. We had a very unhealthy obsession with Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman. Just sayin. You may have many more years of fort-building in your future! :)

  7. I just found your blog today, and wanted to say 1) how adorable is Levi! I love having a little boy, too. Mine's only four months old, but he is a ton of fun. And 2) how lucky your little one is to have such a fun mom. I'm tempted to build a fort right now!
