Another Maxwell Update!

Little Maxwell is growing like a weed! He is up to 3 lb. 6 oz. and getting stronger every day. He is down to just room air which is 21% oxygen and he is keeping his oxygen saturation level in the upper 90's! That is wonderful news!!

There are a list of things that he has to do before coming home which includes being 4 lbs, able to eat from a bottle, and several other things like that. His episodes of his heart rate dropping are becoming fewer and fewer, so hopefully the bigger he gets the longer they stay away. We hate those.

They are going to attempt feeding him from a bottle next week. He is now in his 32nd week of gestation, and 1 month and 1 week old. I can't believe he's been here that long! It's so hard to have a new nephew that I'm not even allowed to hold and love around on. I can't WAIT to get my hands on him.

I am throwing his baby shower this weekend at my house, so get ready next week for lots of fun details!! It's going to be SO cute, if I do say so myself. This week has been crazy busy preparing. I'm so excited for the big day!

Again, thank you for your prayers, and please continue to do so. We love and thank you.

I am a modern day homemaker with a passion for family, cooking, celebrating, decorating, travel, and memory making! The Lord has blessed me with the desires of my heart in my husband and our two sons. We recently built our dream home and cultivating a loving and happy haven for my family is where I find so much joy.

  3. He looks so good, good color! his stats sound like he's progressing well. My son was born 8wks early at 4lbs 4ozs and is home at a chunky 8lbs! Tell momma not to get frustrated with the bottle. He will get it eventually. I think they develope sucking skills at 34-36wks. The nurses kept saying he'll get it, he'll get it and he did! but it was hard watching him not eat. A speech therapist stopped by to help and it was great, who knew so much went into learning to suck/swallow/brethe. Yay for little Maxwell! Praying for him and his family!

  6. He is adorable. He is a very good color. I had preemies too, and mine took a lot longer getting that reddish see thru color off of them.

It will fly by in a breeze. Tell Maxwell's mommy that they are in my prayers :)
