Update on Max.

Here is a text I received from Hollie today concerning how to pray:

"I just went down to see Maxwell again, and I got to touch him again. His goggles were off and so was his bili light, and he was just precious. Lukes twin. But the skin under his PICC line dressing is starting to possibly break down a little due to peeling the tape on and off again, and it could be a possible source for infection. PLEASE pray that his tiny arm will heal, not become infected and not cause his fragile body pain. Every little thing causes me intense worry, and he's doing so well that an infection would be so detrimental. I love him so much. Please continue praying for the sweet baby."

Join with us friends, in continuing to pray for little Max. I will continue updates as I hear them.

  1. I know I haven't commented lately, but I have been reading all of these updates and praying that God gives your family courage and grace as they all heal together! And that that sweet little boy is healed and strengthened and grows up to be about as cute as precious lil' Levi!

  4. I'm still praying! I am not a mom yet, but I know how very hard it is living in a hospital. I really appreciate the update and I truly admire how strong you and your family are. Sending Hollie, Max, and Luke tons of love and looking forward to the posts about what fun little Levi and Max will share!

  5. I will continue to pray until that sweet little Max is home with his family. Being a mom, I can't even imagine what your brother and sister in law is going through.

  6. Have your brother and sister-in-law ask if it is possible to have the PICC line put into his head. I know it sounds awful, but the veins are bigger and the head is stronger, so the line will not have to be replaced nearly as often. His little hands will have scars on them (my 12 year old twins still have scars) and if the line is in his head, the scars won't show up. Just a suggestion, but it really worked well for our boys after their veins kept collapsing.

  10. Everything will be fine. Just tell Hollie that when she doesn't have any strength left to lean on God. He can carry her burdens with ease.

I'm still thanking God for what He's doing for little Max.

  11. I've been behind on reading blogs and just now read the news on your precious nephew.

My sister had her first baby at 25 weeks, 3 days. Guinn weighed 1#, 11 oz. She was born in Houston (they live in Georgia) because we were all there visiting for my brother's wedding (my sister went into labor unexpectedly during the night after the rehearsal dinner - my niece was born the same night that my brother was getting married - my poor mother had two of her three children experiencing the biggest events of their lives at the same time - it was awful). Anyway, because of the wonderful medical care Guinn received in the medical center in Houston (one of the leading research hospitals in the world), she is now a healthy, happy, thriving 12-year-old.

I am praying fervently for sweet Max. Please continue to keep us updated.

  13. I'm praying for this sweet little guy. Our BabyBoy was in the NICU when he was born (had a little surgery the morning after he was born), I can understand some of the emotions and worry. Praying for everybody!
