Yard Sale Progress: Part 1.

What. Did. I. Get. Myself. Into?

Okay, so I knew I had a lot of clothes to get rid of.

But seriously....TWENTY TRASH BAGS AND 4 BOXES FULL?

Nightmare on Elm Street.

(And yes, I was watching Wizards of Waverly Place. Sue me.)

After hours upon hours of sorting, this is about 1/3 of them:

I wanted to throw my hands upon in the air and send it all to Goodwill. Frustrating does not EVEN begin to describe it.

(And yes, we were watching Cars. Sue me again.)

No two people should have THIS many pants/jeans to get rid of.

And...um...there is another stack not pictured. Ugh.

So. I have a kitchen full of home decor that is ready to be priced and sold and a living room full of clothes, shoes and purses ready to get out of my hair. Also a big screen TV and a few other larger items that are just wasting my precious SPACE.

Whoever said yard sales weren't hard work has obviously never been to my house.

"I er, I er, Mommy....are you sure this was a good idea?"
I am a modern day homemaker with a passion for family, cooking, celebrating, decorating, travel, and memory making! 25. Hi! I have been reading your blog for quite some time but I don't think I have ever left a comment! I think you are one of the sweetest people I have ever "met." Your family is precious! I wish I lived anywhere near you because I bet that is going to be one awesome yard sale. Anytime you have shown pictures of your house it is gorgeous, so I can just imagine that the "junk" you are getting rid of will be quite a treasure for someone else ;)

  26. I'm doing the yard sale thing in two weeks and haven't started yet. Mine will look just like yours!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Don't go it alone--When I had my first yard sale, I was so unprepared with how many people showed up. Lots of work but totally worth it.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I want to come to YOUR garage sales... geesh! you are selling a TON of stuff! :) Good luck!

    ReplyDelete
  29. You can make it!! I had about that many pairs of pants/jeans, and I felt like such a hoarder!!! Felt good to get rid of them, even if it was at a fraction of the price I originally paid! I have an uncanny ability to remember almost exactly how much I paid for my clothes, so garage sale prices used to make me cringe. Now...it is worth it for the extra space. Good luck!

  30. that picture of Levi is adorable..and girl, I feel you on the garage sale! Just keep thinking of the light..at the end of the tunnel of an organized and cleaned out house!! xoxo

Garage sales are a nightmare.... we had one about two months ago! We ended being able to pay for a lot for cate's stuff for her room, so it helped! good luck!
