My Eleven Day Journey: Days Five & Six

I deserve some kind of award. I mean seriously. Saturday, my Mom, Sis-in-law and I spent the day registering for things for her upcoming baby. We started the day early and ended late, which meant there were two restaurant meals involved. These were not your typical restaurant meals. No restaurant meal is typical when you're with my Mom. She orders appetizers and desserts in addition to the meals. It's outrageous.

We had lunch at Abuelo's. I ordered chicken fajitas and ate only the chicken and onions. I did not even have one chip. I salivated over the chips and queso and the molten fudge cake for dessert, but I stood strong and didn't put anything in my mouth that wasn't allowed.

Later that evening, we dined at The Cheesecake Factory and I ordered "Weight Management Grilled Chicken" with an arugla salad and tomatoes on top. I can without a doubt say I will never order that dish again, but I didn't budge. I stuck to my chicken breasts while everyone else was eating fantastical baja chicken tacos, shepherds pie and a glorious strawberry shortcake.

I did have a light at the end of the day's tunnel since I was allowed frozen yogurt that day. It was the most fabulous thing to ever grace my taste buds. I inhaled it like a starving dog. It was pathetic. I think I left with a yogurt mustache. Heaven.

Today was easier since I wasn't tempted with such delicacies. Our diet ends one day before Husby's birthday, so I'm pretty sure that is perfect timing. I think this is the longest I've ever lasted on a strict diet. It's simple to stick with because it's short and the results are so fast you don't want to stop.

Several of you have asked me the same two questions: 1.) Can you do this diet while breast feeding? 2.) Are you exercising?
I have no idea about the breast feeding thing, since my little guy is on formula. I probably wouldn't recommend it because I know you are supposed to get a few extra calories than normal while nursing. And I haven't exercised intentionally yet. I am starting that this week.

And there you have it. My weekend was a success and I'm half way through this beast! Horrah! If you can survive Day 2, and the weekend.... it's a breeze.
I am a modern day homemaker with a passion for family, cooking, celebrating, decorating, travel, and memory making! The Lord has blessed me with the desires of my heart in my husband and our two sons. We recently built our dream home and cultivating a loving and happy haven for my family is where I find so much joy.

  4. Jillian Michael's 30 DAY SHRED!!

I don't know what kind of cable service you have (if you have cable), but on our Verizon-On Demand (it's also on Comcast) is Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred. I'm sure you can find it on DVD too. She's the meany on Biggest Loser. It's a 3 step workout with the first 10 days starting out light, then getting harder with the second 10 days, then hard with the third. It's wonderful if you just need to lose inches and tone up real quick....then you can just maintain after that. It's not an all the time kind of workout, just a quick fix. If you try it, make sure you measure yourself, because you might not lose pounds, but you WILL lose inches!

  8. Very impressive to go out to eat and still stick to the diet. I don't thin I'd be able to eat out if I was on this diet.
