My Eleven Day Journey: Day Four

Okay, I want to tell you something. If you can make it past Day 2, you've got this thing in the bag. Yesterday was a breeze!! Seriously, it was simple. I had scrambled eggs and sausage for breakfast, a bowl of oatmeal for lunch, some smoked cheddar cheese slices for a snack and grilled/blackened BBQ chicken for supper. I was satisfied all day long!! On Day 2, all I thought about was food, but yesterday, I only thought about it when I started getting hungry. This is getting much easier.

So. I cheated and weighed at 2pm on Day 3 before I jumped in the shower (it was a long morning with Le Bebe, and I didn't get a shower 'til late). I say I "cheated" because Husby wanted us to wait until the end of the diet to weigh. But I couldn't help it. I was curious. It was the middle of the day and I had just finished a bowl of oatmeal and drank tons of water, so I figured the scales wouldn't reflect anything.

Much to my surprise..... IT DID!!! As of Friday at 2pm (which was 2.5 days of dieting), I have lost FIVE POUNDS! My goodness, I was thrilled! It was just what I needed to keep this thing going with full momentum. I noticed my jeans fitting a little loser, and I guess it wasn't in my head! I absolutely can't wait until August 22 so I can see how much I lose. I am pretty darn excited.

Anyone out there started it yet? I recommend starting on a Monday. That way, you only have one weekend of dieting. It's no fun dieting on the weekends...

Today should be interesting. I will be out and about all day with my Mom and Sis-In-Law, so I will be challenged with "restaurant food". Wish me luck!

  6. I really appreciate you blogging through this. It allows us a realistic insight into how it works, the difficulties, etc. I am definitely doing this at some point in the near future!

  7. Congrats!!! That is exciting!

I am intrigued by this diet but worried it doesn't have enough calories for as much as I run...I can't see being satisfied after a 6-7 mile run, but does the diet address that? Totally curious!

  8. I am one of your many blog stalkers, but I was wondering if you are nursing? My little guy is almost six months old and I am nursing him. My weightloss has been pretty slow and steady but would love to take off more, but don't know if this among others like it would be too drastic. I may just have to wait until after I am done nursing. I too also wondered about exercise, do you do it and does the program recommend it? Is there a website to check out?

  9. Great! Now, I must say - you will probably notice your weight loss slowing down over the next few days, and then the remainder will come off in the last few days. In fact, Brian gained a pound from yesterday to today. Don't get discouraged, though. You will lose more.

  11. I'm starting on Tuesday! A little nervous for having to do the meals for lunch at school- since I have to pack them in the morning, hopefully I'll pack enough "turkey slices" or whatever. GREAT JOB!

  12. To Mandy,

I'm not a medical person, just a mom who's breastfed two. If you are nursing PLEASE make sure you are not losing more than about a pound a week. I lost two pounds a week with my first and it REALLY affected my milk supply, so much so that it was the beginning of the end for nursing for us. The recommendation varies from .5 lb to 2 lbs a week, but just start slowly and make sure your milk supply is ok. You can go slowly and always diet later ... it's ok, you are doing the best for your baby and yourself (lower breast cancer risks, etc.) by nursing. You could try implementing maybe a day or two of the diet per week and see if that helps you lose slowly or something, then if all is ok, continue. Best of luck.
