4 Years.

Today is our anniversary! We have had four wonderfully great years of being man and wife and I can honestly say that with each year, I come to love Husby deeper.

Husby is a fantastic man. Two things that brought us together from the beginning and has kept us extremely close is our love for the Lord and our humor. We were instant best friends and now that we are married, that has not changed. He makes me laugh every single day and I do the same to him. We truly enjoy to the fullest this life that we have been given and we are so grateful that we are where we are right now - doing it together.

Each year, as I reflect back on the changes and challenges the year has brought, I am able to see perfectly the hand of God and how He is orchestrating our lives. Today, as I think about this past year, I see the challenges of Medical school and my pregnancy. Husby was the best person to go through a pregnancy with. He was super attuned to my needs, my emotions, my excitement and my pain. He was at every Doctor's appointment and at the end, cheering me on as I pushed out our boy. He is and always has been, my biggest fan.

Over the past month, I have seen Husby in a completely different way. As a Daddy. I always envisioned what I thought Husby would be as a Dad, and how I hoped he would be, but I can honestly say that he has surpassed every hope I've ever had. He is absolutely fantastic. He loves and plays and cares for Levi in the sweetest, most precious way. The look in his eyes as he holds our little boy, and the tone in his voice as he tells him about Jesus will melt your heart. He is the best daddy, and seeing him in this role absolutely magnifies my love for him in ways I never dreamed could. I thought I loved Husby to maximum capacity the day I married him. I didn't realize I could go above and beyond that. But living life day in and day out with him, experiencing life's ups and downs with him and having a precious baby with him, makes me love him deeper - stronger - better.

We were able to get away overnight on Monday to one of our favorite towns to celebrate our four years. It was so great - relaxing, fun and exactly what we needed. We ate a lot, shopped a lot, laughed a lot, watched a late movie, and crashed in bed and slept in. It was perfect.

It's important to get away and focus on your marriage as often as you can...especially when there is a sweet baby in the mix. We never want to lose focus of our priorities - God first, each other second, and baby third. After all, without each other, we would never have little Levi. :)

Happy Anniversary, Baby. I love you so, so much.

  7. Happy Anniversary! That is so nice that you were able to get away together for this special occasion. I too think that it is nice to make alone time with one another as much as possible. Our 5 year anniversary is on July 9, and we too are going away for the night. It just gives you a time to focus on the relationship and the Love that is shared!!
