I Broke The Rules.

This morning, as I laid around on the couch watching The View and eating my eggos, I got a text from Husby.

It said this:

(The time at the top is the time I took a picture of the conversation - not the time the convo took place.)

Never mind the bruschetta talk; the first part of the text conversation is what I wanted you to see.

Don't forget about Jerry.

Jerry means Jerry Seinfeld.

He came to town and we purchased tickets MONTHS ago to see him. We are huge Seinfeld fans, so we have been looking forward to this for a very long time. When tickets went on sale, Husby was one of the first to order them and we snagged second row seats. SECOND ROW.

How could I miss that?

I know I'm not supposed to be out and about. I know I'm not supposed to be on my feet. I know I'm not supposed to disobey the Doctor...but...come on, it's Jerry.

I had to go. When we bought these tickets we realized that this would be very close to my due date and decided then and there that it would be our last big date night together before D-day. What better way to end life as non-parents than with Jerry?

I scrounged up something to wear and boy was that a task. Nothing fits this bod anymore. All of my maternity shirts are mediums and well, Levi is not a medium baby and my tummy is definitely not a medium tummy as of late. So, I found the biggest and roomiest medium I had and went with it.

See?

Here is a 37.5 week preggy Whitney ready for "the last date" as I kept referring it.

Whew. Big, huh?

Anyway.

We hopped in the car and went to our favorite little steak house that serves the best food. See? Oh, and it's not Santa Fe, by the way. We decided to go a little more "fancy" for our special date night.

This is a special place for us. We save it for very special occasions. We enjoyed a long leisurely dinner and savored every moment. And bite.

Then we headed to Jerry!

The place held thousands of people and we were on the second row! It was absolutely amazing! I could see the sweat on his brow and the hairs in his nose! Ha, not really the nose hair part, but seriously - we were close.

I kept sneaking pictures, though they weren't allowed, and once I even got in trouble. That didn't stop me though. I just had to up my sneaky ways.

Here are some shots I got!

If it looks like HE'S LOOKING AT ME, it's because he was!! He kept staring at me and Husby all night long! Once, he stared at Husby so long that Husby had to look away....it was absolutely hilarious. Maybe we were really reassuring to him with all of our laughter. Or maybe he was amazed at the size of my tum-tum. Either way, he totally knows us now. We're practically BFF.

We had an excellent evening out. I'm so glad I broke the rules - I needed it. My swollen ankles may not be thanking me for it, but my soul is.
I am a modern day homemaker with a passion for family, cooking, celebrating, decorating, travel, and memory making! The Lord has blessed me with the desires of my heart in my husband and our two sons. We recently built our dream home and cultivating a loving and happy haven for my family is where I find so much joy.
