Levi Update

I had another Doctor’s appointment this week. We got to see little Levi’s precious face again and of course, it was not nearly as clear as the 4D. It was still as sweet as pure sugar, though. Oh that baby boy!

The Doctor once again told me that I will be giving birth to a toddler. Levi is a chunka chunka burnin’ lovie! He weighs 3 lb. 15 oz. right now and she said his legs are so, so long. The average baby weighs 2 and a half pounds at this point. Not my Levi!! He weighs almost 4! Haha! Wowza!!

Somehow, I lost almost 4 pounds since my last appointment three weeks ago. Hey, I’m not complaining. I’m sure it was all that walking I did Chicago because I definitely haven’t stopped eating fried chicken strips and strawberry shortcake.

That brings my weight gain up to a grand total of 17 pounds so far (which is almost exactly where I'm supposed to be at this point - praise the LORD) and I’ve got 10 weeks left to go. I have a goal I am trying to maintain and here’s to hoping I achieve it! They recommended I gain 30-35, so hopefully I will stay right on track. I can hardly imagine gaining 18 more lbs in the next 10 weeks though. That seems a bit much considering it took 30 weeks to gain 17. Hmmm.

It. Is. Not. Fun. Seeing. Numbers. On. The. Scale. That. You. Have. Never. Seen. Before. In. Your. Entire. Life. That, by far, is the least fun part of pregnancy. Everything else is a barrel of monkeys!

Levi is head down and in the perfect position for delivery. I think he will come earlier than June 18th. I’m predicting…. June 10th. Let’s see how accurate I am. As long as he is good, healthy and prepared to have his face smothered in kisses every time he turns around, I say the sooner the better! He’s coming and he is coming soon!

Oh, and let me mention that I am now on the every-two-week Dr. appointment schedule. Oh my word!
I am a modern day homemaker with a passion for family, cooking, celebrating, decorating, travel, and memory making! The Lord has blessed me with the desires of my heart in my husband and our two sons. We recently built our dream home and cultivating a loving and happy haven for my family is where I find so much joy.

  2. Tell me about it...but I was never the "only gained 25 lbs" preggo person. Oh no, I packed on 45 with both of my pregnancies. I'm still working on getting it all off after the second one, so consider yourself blessed with your cute little 17lbs so far. By the time I was that far along, I had gained 30 lbs.

June 10th, huh? Hmmmm...I'm gunna go with June 13th. My first one was 5 days early, so that's what I'm basing my prediction on.

I just love your blog, BTW!

  7. Let's not talk about weight gain... Let's talk about rib cages. Is he kicking you in the ribs? That seems to be The Bean's favorite past time. Hiccuping and kicking me in the ribs. The little guy has very busy days.

I can't believe we're so close! LET THE COUNTDOWNS BEGIN!!

  12. Don't worry about your weight gain! I gained differently with all three of mine from 52 lbs- 21 lbs & they all weighed @ the same! My daughter Emily(10) weighed 9lbs. 11oz at 40 weeks, my son Hugh(8) weighed 9lbs. 11oz also but at 39 weeks & my son Joseph(4) weighed 9lbs. 7 oz at 38 weeks! All BIG babies! And BEAUTIFUL!!! I pray Levi comes healthy, happy, and early but not too early and I just know he's going to be adorable!!! Good luck and thanks for sharing!

  13. well, just be warned that over the last 6 weeks or so, you're supposed to gain about 1 pound per week (because the baby gains 1/2 pound per week).

trust me. it's scary (i'm due may 4th to what should be atleast a middle schooler).

  21. Don't worry about the weight-gain: 7+ pounds is the baby, 10 pounds is the placenta, and I-don't-know-how-many is an increase in blood-volume (have you been made aware that your blood-volume doubles during pregnancy? That's why you have the stuffy, runny nose if you didn't already know, because there's extra pressure on the delicate nasal passages, and if you decide to breastfeed it will STAY stuffy!). My weight started coming off pretty quickly after I had my little girl. :)

  22. How fun, I always LOVED ultrasounds. Yummy babes.

Don't worry too much about the weight gaining (during pregnancy). I know it is REALLY hard and so weird to hear and see those numbers, but just remember you have a HUMAN inside of you. The weight really starts coming off pretty fast; which makes you hungrier and SO very thirsty (all of the time) if you are breast feeding.
    Ok, well anyway...

  23. wow, that is a huge baby!!! lol, I fear that one day i'll be in the same situation since I, too, have a very tall husband!
Have you started working on his nursery? I am so excited to see what you will be doing in there! Post some pictures! And more of you! You are such a cute prego woman!
