Ice Ice Baby.

So.

Today I am iced in from work.

Husby is iced in from school.

Perfect.

I am going to sleep, rest, clean, bake, cook, organize, and do whatever else my heart desires. Maybe I'll show you some of the things I come up with tomorrow.

Unexpected breaks are amazing.

Here are some pictures from last years ice storm.

What is your favorite thing to do while iced in? Who knows, if it sounds good, I just might do it too!

Time to get on with my day and have some fun! :)
I am a modern day homemaker with a passion for family, cooking, celebrating, decorating, travel, and memory making! The Lord has blessed me with the desires of my heart in my husband and our two sons. We recently built our dream home and cultivating a loving and happy haven for my family is where I find so much joy.

  7. I've never been "iced in" because I live in Florida, we have "hurricane days" where we rush to the store, fight the crowds for batteries and bottled water, gas for the generators, and then spend the rest of the day boarding up windows. Fun, fun, fun. When the weather gets nasty we usually play games and read books. I can't imagine what an ice storm must be like but the pictures are beautiful, it looks soooo cold!! Hope you stay warm.

  10. This is the first day that I can be home all alone. It's been a long time since I've had my home all to myself for a whole 24 hours. My little puppy, Annie is at the vet recooping from surgery and my husband is away at Police Academy. I'm gonna do some laundry, organize and catch up on one of my favorite magazines, Real Simple.
    Enjoy your time together.

  19. Ooooohhh I am JEALOUS. We were supposed to get some of that good stuff today but, as always, the weatherman was a little off on his predictions. (sigh)

If I were iced in today... I would drink 3 cups of coffee and read a book by the window. And then I would reorganize my kitchen cabinets because it is driving me insane that the mugs are on the opposite side of the sink as the coffee pot. They should be above the coffee pot!! Don't ya think?

;) I hope you have a wonderful day!

  20. Lucky! I haven't been able to do that in a long time. The best thing we got here was a 2 hour delay one time. And that was it.

    Enjoy your day!

  21. I would freaking PAY to be iced in today. Everyone else and they're sister is off work today, but no. My university thinks that it's no biggie. Of course, it's not that bad yet, but, I'm not so thrilled about driving home from class at 7:30 when things are supposed to get worse!!

Enjoy your day off! Lucky lady.

We were snowing in 2 year ago on Valentine's day. It was so fun and I even convinved hubby to re-paint out hallway for me. We had all the supplies but just never actually did it. What a perfect way to get a house project done!

  32. I'm iced in from school and work today. WooHoo! So, I'm cuddled up under a blanket and catching up on the blogs I love.
I think we're from the same area, those pics from last winter look eerily familiar (plus the building in the background caught my eye, I've seen it a time or two) ;)
I'm so glad this current storm isn't as bad as the awful ice storm from last year! Keep safe and warm; and have fun at home with the hubby!

  33. Ice days are magical. That's all there is to it. I LOVE them, other than we have to make them up in the education world. Hope you had a splendid day. I was just thinking about your mom's chocolate chip cookies. Wow! Those are some good cookies. I wish I had those and puffy cheetohs. I would alternate. One puffy cheetoh. One bite of cookie. Back and forth. I have weird cravings right now.
