First Maternity Outfit.

I went home this weekend for the funeral of a dear friends grandmother. It's always good to go home and see so many of the people I grew up with and that I love so dearly. It was my first time seeing most of them since my special announcement, so it was great to catch up with everyone. I walked into my bedroom at home to see this!

Mom has a very french form-type stand in my room, and she put this outfit on it with a pillow stuffed up in there! Isn't it so cute? I walked in and died laughing. SO CUTE! I can't wait until I can fill this out!

She also welcomed me with some other adorable maternity wear, so that one day when I wake up and nothing in my closet fits, I will have some great things to wear. My mom is always lookin' out for me. She swears that all the maternity stores in town are her new favorite places. She had so much fun finding these goodies for me.

And I can't wait to wear them! Just a few more months! :)

What was your favorite thing to wear while pregnant?!

  1. That is the cutest! What a Mom! I want her to be my mom!

When I was pregnant, I lived in my husband's boxers and t-shirts when I was at home. They were just the most comfortable for me. They have such cute stuff available though for preggo mommies now :) So fun!

  2. When I was pregnant with Katie my sister Rhonda made me a couple of outfits that I just loved. I am sure part of the attraction was knowing, like you, that the person who gave them to me loved me so much!

  3. What a cute outfit and a really great mom! I was preggers in the late 80s/early 90s, so what I liked probably wouldn't be in style anymore. There used to be a store (can't remember the name, but not a maternity store) that sold pants/shirts/skirts/belts made of jersey-like material. It was very soft and comfy and showed my baby bump perfectly. And it was all made to mix and match so it fit my budget perfectly, as well!

  4. Your mom is just precious and so is this outfit! You are one lucky girl. I wore a ton of hand-me-down very ugly maternity clothes. Maternity wear has come a long way in the past 15 years.

  5. A bella band. It looks just like a tube top, but it goes around your hips and waist. It is great for that in-between stage when you're not showing yet but your pants are too tight to button(it holds them up while they are unbottoned.) It looks like you have layered shirts on and it was perfect for when maternity clothes were still too big, but my regular clothes were a little short and tight. I got mine at a Pea in the Pod, but I think Motherhood Maternity has it now, too. Your mom is great!

What a sweet heart mommy you have..

  7. Such a great Momsy! But of course we already knew that. I was all about maternity clothes with Noah, but this time around, I'm wearing "normal" clothes for as long as possible. I have snagged some inexpensive maternity shirts at Old Navy that I wear almost every day because they fit great and don't look maternity. They're just fitted tees that I can throw a cardigan over if it's chilly or whatever! I also second the beauty of the Bella Band. It's made this pregnancy so much easier, pants-wise! You'll be such a stylish little prego, I have no doubt.

  8. That is cute! My mom was the same way she got me most of my maternity clothes. Check the clearance racks at GAP (I have a hard time paying a lot for something I wear for only a couple months) GAP maternity fit and lasted the best!

  9. this is so so so cute! yay for moms!! i've never been preggo so i can't give you much advise in the dept... but i was shopping for my cousin (she is pg) at Old Navy (O.N. as i like to call it) and they have some ah-dorable stuff!!

  10. That outfit was awesome...My favorite was these black leather pants-it sounds wild, but I would wear them to holiday parties, and everyone loved them...I loaned them to my sister, best friend, everyone who was pregnant wanted them! (I'd send them to you, but they are on permanent loan to my sister who is hoping to be preg. again real soon!)

  11. So sweet! I'm sure your p's are so excited:) My favorite thing to wear was anything comfortable:) Even though I wasn't pregnant that long ago maternity clothes are so much better! You're lucky:)

  12. That was so sweet!!!

With my first one, my favorite was a red sundress. :)

With my second, I'd say...I probably recycled the red sundress.

With my third, I lived in adidas pants and t-shirts. I worked at Curves for Women, and basically lived in my work clothes!

  13. Momsy is just the best! What a cute outfit!

When I was preggers I loved anything that stretched...and my hubby's pj bottoms.

I absolutely hated the pants that fit under the belly. They were so uncomfortable. I also hate the shirts that don't cover the belly completely - who'd want to see that comin' right at ya' down the street, right?! ;)

  14. I have been pregnant three times in three years, so I was very much over the maternity clothes this last time around, but I can tell you this- Motherhood Maternity has these pants called Perfect Fit or something like that maybe its secret fit, but anyways, those pants are the best!!! All the other pants I would have to pull up all day long, but these stay put and look great. They have them in jeans, etc. Ann Taylor Loft also has maternity on their website!!

  17. Super cute outfit!!! You have a lot of people here telling you all the good things that I would have told you to. The Bella band is great it got me through my four to 7 months that I was really not showing. Secret fit is great two I had four and loves them all. If you plan on breastfeeding you have to get the Glamour mom nursing tanks. I love them I actually live in them right now. They are great for layering and go with everything. They are so much easier to just wipe out you boob and feed you little lovie. They have a ton of colors on there web site. Also if you plan on breastfeeding make sure you think about what kind of pump you want and need. If you want to buy or rent. I bought two pumps before I noticed that I needed the more expensive double pump. Good luck!!

  18. Very fun! If I was at home, I lived in gauchos or sweats with a cami. For a while I slept in Josh's t-shirts, too! When I was actually around people, I loved flowy sundresses. Comfort is key!

  19. Such a sweet mom! I love that she stuffed it with a pillow. How funny! That sweater is so cute. I can't wait until you have a cute little belly to fill it out!

  20. Aw, your mom's so sweet!

My favorite, most worn item while I was pregnant? Juicy Couture terry sweats! Not even maternity clothes! They fit prefectly under my belly though and were super comfy.

Also, Bella Bands for those months before when you're too big for regular clothes but not quite ready for maternity clothes. They're AWESOME.

  38. What a great Mom.

I invested in three pairs of really good and nice maternity pants. They were pricey, probably $100 each but they were my saving grace as far as comfort.

But really my favorite thing was my hubbys hospital scrubs. They fit right up until I delivered. When I would come home I couldn't wait to put them on. It was also nice knowing he wore them to deliver babies...of course they were washed but you know what I mean.

  42. This is my third pregnancy and the first time I have been full term during the cold weather... I am looking forward to having this one in January instead of the sweltering summer but the clothes for this season are not comfortable! I miss the boxer shorts and t shirt days - now it's just jeans with a suffocating band of elastic that goes to your boobs and tight fitting, long sleeve shirts that make your portruding belly button look obscene! I wish I could live in my pajama pants and tank tops but the other moms at school might have an intervention ;) Now that sweater you got looks SOOO comfy, I have one similar and wear it WAY too much!

  43. I just figured out that I can read your blog here at school! Woo hoo!! I absolutely love that outfit and love that your mom put a pillow underneath:) So cute! Where did she get it? I'm going to have shop there when I'm preggers!! Love ya

  44. How cute. I love that sweater with the satin bow! You will be one stylin-momma! My mom blessed me with maternity clothes as well. They have some really cute styles now!

  45. Your mom is SO different from my mom. At the end of my pregnancy I outgrew EVERYTHING I owned. So my mom went to a secondhand store & bought the biggest things she could find. One of which a jumper, that was blue & white checked like a tablecloth.

I'd rather have your mom shop for me! I love that outfit.
